This module is great to use with prospects and clients (to model out potential total cost scenarios). Using a 408(b)(2), you can create a current vs. proposed fee report to create simplicity and transparency. But the real power lies in the ability to project total costs over a 10-year period (year-by-year) and illustrate the potential cost savings you can deliver in total dollars and by participant. I won a ton of business over the years using this approach to visualize the impact of fees and how I could deliver huge value from a total cost of ownership perspective. CFOs, in particular, loved this approach. Using a projection approach transforms the fee discussion from simply “benchmarking” to “optimization”.
